Friday, June 21st is National Take Your Dog To Work Day! How fun, right? If your employer allows it (which I hope they will!) I highly recommend you bring your furry friend with you. I used to take our dogs, Gino and Luigi to work all the time when I worked at CBS. They had a blast, they bounded down that hallway like a kid running into the gates of Disneyland.
My dogs loved hanging out in my office and they especially loved all the attention they got. My coworkers appreciated it too. Let’s face it, dogs make any atmosphere a happier one. They bring people together and get conversations started. My friends at work would actually thank me for bringing them. Some would stop by if they were having a stressful day and get some ‘puppy therapy.’ It worked every time. Pet’s calm our nerves and keep out stress levels in check.
This was started by Pet Sitters International in 1999 to celebrate these amazing companions and to raise awareness about the growing numbers of animals awaiting homes in shelters, rescue organizations and adoption centers. Don’t have a dog? Consider adopting one, it will enrich your life in more ways than you can imagine.
