This is an interview I have wanted to bring you for a long time. In August 2019 my best friend got the diagnosis every woman fears. Breast cancer. True to her character she handled her diagnosis and treatment with courage and took advocacy over her recovery. I’m happy to report that she is now cancer free and thriving.
Many of the things she learned during her journey including questions she wished she asked her doctors years prior to her diagnosis will shed light on subjects that are not commonly talked about when it comes to breast cancer prevention.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is obviously a good time to have this discussion but as I say every year, awareness is great but prevention is the key. What you’ll learn by hearing Tresa’s story is inspiring but will also help you when it comes to your own prevention. There are things to look out for and be aware of as well as surprising questions to consider asking your doctor during your yearly mammogram appointment. Tresa also sheds light on certain things your doctor likely doesn’t discuss with you about breast cancer prevention including whether or not you should have a breast ultrasound in addition to your yearly mammogram.
