Most of us fear growing older and what it does to our health but it doesn’t have to be something to fear. Your health and longevity is largely in your control. Your lifestyle dictates at least 75% of your health, looks and longevity. Five regions around the world, known as Blue Zones prove this. People living in Blue Zones are not only living to see their 100th birthday, but they are thriving in their twilight years. That’s the objective – not just living a long life but feeling good and being happy while enjoying a beautiful quality of life. These areas have extremely low rates of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and other illness. In Costa Rica there lives a 107-year-old woman who cuts her grass– using a machete!
It’s more than diet and exercise, as I always preach, it’s all about your lifestyle! In this episode, Sarah Bonneville, Founder & CEO of SKE Creative Media and sustainability coach shares interesting intel on how the people in Blue Zones live. We discuss the lifestyles of these centenarians and things we can do to incorporate these rather simple habits into our own lives. Take action and implement some of these habits to improve your health, happiness and longevity.
