~ Soma Intimates is having their semi annual Giving Is Beautiful Drive ~
Do you know which item of clothing is donated the least but needed the most? Bras. It doesn’t occur to most of us to donate our bras because we think ‘who would want a used bra?’ But the reality is that there are thousands of women in need who could use a few good over the shoulder boulder holders so it’s time to clean out your lingerie drawer ladies (cross dressers, female impersonators…!) because Soma Intimates is once again having their very worthwhile drive.
They are collecting new and gently used bras in partnership with the National Network to End Domestic Violence [NNEDV] for their ‘Giving is Beautiful’ bra donation campaign. Of the over 4 million women who turn to a shelter each year for help, many often show up with only the clothes they are wearing, they need everything.
Good bras can be pricey so these donations really help. Now through February 14th you can drop off your donations at Soma boutiques and outlets across the country, mail them to Soma or make an online donation. I dropped some off last week. Share this with friends and family so they can offer ‘support’ as well.
That is a great idea. I’ll be honest though, I will have to just pick up some nice ones at Rosss to donate. My bras are never in gently used condition by the time I am through with them. I wouldn’t dare donate them. I wear them until the bone breaks. Thanks for sharing. It is definitely not something I considered before.
Most of mine are like that too! I do have a few I just never really liked so wore them only once or twice so I figure those would be acceptable!
